Encantada is an electrifying collage of some of the best and popular musicians in the Chennai music scene,consisting of both experienced as well as dynamic young musicians.Encantada performs a wide range of musical styles ranging form Rock,pop,funk and latino.The versatility of the musicians and the sound they create with their experience and their arrangement gives the band a unique texture of its own.

Keith Peters: (Bass Guitar)

This name doesn"t need any introduction in the music scene. With more than three decades of experience as a bass player he has played with all the big names in the Industry. Keith is a true master in his instrument who can play any genre of music under the sun. Most admired for his knowledge in jazz. Keith Peters is a permanent fixture in A.R.Rahman"s band and has played in all his movies starting from Roja in 1992 till his most recent movie. Keith Peters is regarded as one of the best and the most respected musicians in the business. Has toured all over the world with A.R.Rahman,Violinist L.Subramaniam, Sivamani and more.He has played in some of the most prestigious music festivals all around the world.

Donan Murray: (Guitar and Vocals)

Donan Murray is a versatile and exciting Musician with a history of playing Jazz, Rock, Pop and Experimental music and one of the senior most guitarists in the Chennai music scene. Donan is a busy live musician and has also recorded f A.R.Rahman for his songs and background scores.Also records for Vishal and Shekhar and other music directors in the recording industry.

Donan in his two decades of guitar playing has performed with Juravi, V6 and Nemesis Avenue - some of Chennai's most popular rock bands in the early 1990"s. He has performed in various cities across India including Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mysore, Calicut, Hyderabad and Vizag with popular gig bands from Chennai - Roxygen, Undercover, Buddha"s babies, Glass, Yodhakaa & Molotov cocktail and the Bangalore based jazz band Mili NairTrio. He has also performed with Vasundra Das and her band Arya.

The millennium brought new collaborations with Carnatic, Indi –folk and global music. Three years of learning to play the Veena (South Indian Carnatic string instrument) continued Donan's journey with experimental music.

At his experimental music performances he plays a modified Electric Veena and a custom built Electric guitar with Veena frets and strings.Donan is a versatile singer with a strong sense of harmony arrangements.

Has played in some of the best venues around the world such as Independence Rock Festival at Rang Bhavan Mumbai with rock band Juravi in 2001,The Indian Jazz Yatra performances in Pune and Mumbai with The Tommy Menezes Quintet in 2002, Sacred music festival with Oikyotaan in Berlin, Germany in December 2003,Chennai Sangamam folk festivals launches at IIT Chennai in Jan 2007 & 2008 and at the Madras University auditorium in January 2009, Tour of China – (Beijing, Nanjing and Xiachow) with the Indian show ‘Ey Aa O".Joint family Productions in March 2008,‘The 11th Rainforest world music festival" in Sarawak, Malaysia in June 2008 with the global world music band Oikyotaan.

‘Darbuka" Siva (drums and percussions)

‘Darbuka" Siva as he is popularly known is a drummer and a percussionist based in Chennai.Siva also started learning Latin-American percussions like congas, timbales and the bongos, which really amazed him. He also learned the ghatam and basics of carnatic music. By this time he was already playing for some professional bands. Though Siva started out as just a drummer, his interest was more on world rhythm and percussions. It is this thirst, that pushed him to explore different genres and different instruments thus gaining him that uniqueness as a musician and made him a sought after musician in the Chennai music scene.

Siva plays a wide range of percussion instruments that includes drums, congas, timbales, the Cajon, middle-eastern darbuka , bongos, the Egyptian doumbek, the African djembe, the tabla, ghatam, dhol and the dholak to name a few. He learned his technique in world percussions like the darbuka, cajon and djembe from the internationally acclaimed percussionist PETE LOCKETT (based in U.K ).He got trained in Latin styles like salsa, son, Rhumba, Cumbia, Merengue, Samba- cancsao from Latin percussionist Aldo Rodriguez from Bogota, Colombia.

As a freelancer he plays for a good half-a-dozen bands ranging from jazz to folk to fusion bands and has toured all over the world. Also a busy sessions player for the Tamil movie Industry playing for all the big names in the South. He also runs an organization called ‘Artseek" which promotes contemporary Indian art forms of any sort.

Siva has performed in some of the prestigious music festivals which includes Chennai Sangamam 2007 and 2008,Kala Utsavam 2007,Singapore, Namaste India festival 2008 in Tokyo, Sori Arts festival 2008 in South Korea, Vladivostok Philharmonic Hall, Russia and the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival 2008 in China, Lovebox music festival 2009 in London and the most acclaimed WOMAD 2009 in Charlton Park, U.K. to name a few.

Subhiksha (Vocals and percussion)

Subhiksha comes from a family of South Indian classical musicians. She is one of the few versatile singers experimenting on all kinds of music ranging from rock, pop, folk to classical. She started her training in music when she was six years old. As a child artist she has won several music competitions and scholarships from different institutions. Subhiksha has represented India as a "Young music ambassador" in Colorado, U.S.A for a cultural exchange music programme, besides performing in many music festivals in Europe and the United States. She is also trained in western classical music with an eight grade. Apart from touring all around the world for concerts, she has sung for leading music directors in the Tamil film industry like A.R.Rahman, Ilayaraja, Yuvan Shankar Raja and more. Apart from singing she also adds her bit to the grooveline of the band with her percussions skills.

Barry D"Rozario: (Keyboard)

Barry is a versatile musician who adapts himself to all forms of music that is required of him. His styles range from jazz, country, rock, reggae, pop, etc. Barry is an amazing singer as well and has a wide repertoire of songs to his list which goes all the way back to the 50"s & 60"s till modern day music. Barry has been playing with bands in and out of Chennai for more than ten years now and has performed with renowned musicians like Frank Dubier and other senior musicians as well as with well-known musicians from the film industry.
