You roam the streets carrying your pichkaris around like a warrior. Everyone is fair game. You and your friends are the masters of the universe… well, at least your neighbourhood. Old rivalries ensue and old enmities dissolve. Yes, Holi is THAT time.

Got a crush on that girl/boy next door? Today, they will smile when they look at you. Had a big fight with your best friend? Today, you will laugh and play like nothing’s wrong. Got problems at work, school or home? Nothing matters today because HOLI HAI!

The world around you is a palette of colours and you are living inside a painting. And suddenly SPLAT! This big water balloon hits you smack in the ear and suddenly its all-out War! If only all wars were this much fun.

Isn’t it the first thing you think of the minute someone mentions Holi! Well, for us it is. For at least one day in the year, the country is all about being joyful, being stupid, and being childish… Just being yourself!

Holi is the one festival where your social rules and regulations of behaviour can go take a hike! Everyone is fair game – your principal, your grandfather – even that girl you have been meaning to ask out for ages! You can look, act and celebrate like a crazy (but nice) fun person.

However, not all fun is cool, especially when it bothers someone; the trick is to learn how to not overstep the line. There is colour in your hair, your clothes soaked wet in water, it’s noisy and you are hitting people with hand-grenade sized balloons! Yet the beauty of it all is that you are not complaining!

So what makes Holi so Bloody Cool? The bhaang, the riot of colours, bonding with complete strangers, the freedom to go jump into a pool full of colours and pull everyone else in as well. It’s a war of colours out there, guys! Are you up for it? [V] are!

The ‘Bloody Cool’ inter-collegiate annual festival of NIIT Karnataka, Surathkal titled ‘Incident-2012 : The End Of the World Party’ kick started on Feb 29. The festival is wooing a crowd of students from all across Mangalore! It’s turning into a party where there’s no tomorrow?!

Here [v] give you the highlights of Incident 12’:

- From quizzes to gaming to pro-shows and workshops, Incident has hell lot of events lined up to give you the ‘wow’ experience which will definitely leave you hungry for more.

- How much can you express in just 3 seconds? The ‘Short Movie’ competition at “Incident” addresses that very question. The criterion is to make a 3-second movie based on simple but unique theme: One Last Wish. Think you have what it takes?

- There’s more! Incident-2012’ will conclude with a dazzling performance by the Indian Rockstar, Sonu Nigam on March 3. Bet you can’t wait to see Sonu set the stage on fire with his numero uno hits.

It is again that month of the year wherein every single movie buff is possessed with the Oscar fever. Were you too glued on to your TV sets to watch who sparkled at the red carpet? Who missed the mark? Who took home the golden man? Who attracted all the attention?!

Here is what [v] think made the 84th Academy Awards so ‘Bloody Cool’.

-‘The Artist’ became the first silent motion picture in 83 years to win Best Picture, first being Wings that won the Best Picture Award at the 1st Academy Awards. How ‘Bloody Cool’ is that?!

- The mesmerizing, breath-taking and phenomenal performance by ‘Cirque du Soleil’ wherein performers stunned the audience with what human bodies can do.

-At the age where most people would just prefer to be home and take life easy, Christopher Plummer, age 82, become the oldest man on the planet to win the Oscar. [v] take a bow in respect.

-[v] give a big thumps up to the truly cosmopolitan Oscar nominations received from countries Iran, Argentina, Pakistan, Ireland, France to make the Oscar feel more global.

-Last but not the least nothing makes the Red carpet more celestial that the stars who attend it. [v] loved the ‘Bloody Cool’ Haute couture gowns worn by Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie,  Michelle Williams, Rooney  Mara and Gwenyth Paltrow.

Well Well Well… Here is the dilemma that every man on earth has faced -To use a pick up line or not?  No one wants to end up looking desperate or like a spaz. The best pickup lines are the ones that are just so stupid you have to laugh, and that laughing will hopefully turn into an actual conversation. Remember if a good pick up line gets you a hot chick a bad pick up line can ruin your chances forever with her.

Elections in Mumbai just went by. And we hope all of you who were the legal age went ahead and voted. This is the part where you can say ‘Yes, I did my bit’. And we are proud of you.

Voting is bloody cool. Here are a few of the reasons why:

1. You are totally allowed to whine about how the government sucks and how it doesn’t do a thing for us because you took part in the democratic process.
2. You meet a lot of interesting people from all walks of life waiting in line. It’s an experience.
3. You are part of something big, something important, and something which may make a difference. Or Not.
4. You get a Voter ID card. Handy Age verification, right?
5. You are allowed to feel self-righteous and pompous for at least a week after, you have earned it.

And finally, most importantly……

You have a valid reason to show everyone the finger. Cheap thrills, indeed.

So, go ahead and Vote. Vote every opportunity you get. If there aren’t any elections, Make up some! You may not think it’s worth it, but every vote counts. Your little way of making your country a better place based on your opinions and your choice. Voice your opinions and share the word with your friends. Comment on/Share this post.

Love is a complicated emotion. You know you like the feeling of it, but it can also feel a little like a cage. Confined, in ONE relationship. What if you have more love to share? Why can’t you love more than a single person? Why does it have to be so hard?

So, some people feel the need to have affairs. To put it bluntly, to cheat. It’s Man’s imperfect and often unsuccesfull effort at trying at having the best of both worlds. Here is why [v] think cheating doesn’t make sense.

1. You are setting yourself up for anger and hurt: Cheating can’t end well. Nobody appreciates being double-dated and when they do find out (They will, trust us) , Things will not be pretty.

2. Why not just end the relationship?: You’ll be a lot more honest to yourself, to your partner if you just end the relationship. It won’t be easy, but it will spare you the stress, chaos and guilt of multiple relationships at the same time. Pick one or Pick none!

3. It’s no fun: Ok, maybe it is a little bit of fun. But who needs the headache, the constant worrying, the crazy schedules, and nagging multiplied into 2 or 3.

Be Bloody cool. Don’t cheat. Have fun. Tell us about your experiences with a cheating ex or a time when you had a bit of fun on the side. Don’t forget to share it with all your friends!

Maybe they’re reading this article and looking for you too. Love knows no boundaries, caste, religion or sex. So, go out and love.

Straight. Gay. Bisexual. Eventually, these are labels given by us humans. We are all just people who enjoy the company of interesting people. Respect each other’s choices and live and let live! Love and be loved! Ok, It’s time for us to – **Disengage from Hippie mode**

It was desi versus western at the 57th Idea Filmfare Awards 2012 held in Mumbai on Sunday. But as [v] do things differently. We rate 6 leading ladies on their overall look for the big event. Here we go analyzing and keeping in mind every small littel detail:

Bipasha Basu: 8.5/10
Bipasha looked stunning in the golden nude divaish gown. The hair do and the band added to the look and made her look absoulutely gorgeous. Minimum accesories was a great choice. But what are the black stilletos doing here Bips?

Shazahn Padamsee: 8/10
This young lady did make a lot of heads turn at the red carpet. Shazahn chose to keep it classy and simple.The golden embelishment compliment her snow white skin tone. [v] lobve the hair do. Though a beige or a nude clutch would do more justice.

Asin: 6/10
The usually well dressed Asin did walk in as a little dissapointment in Stella McCartney Spring 2012 Gown. The loud print of her gown didnt speak anything. Those sleeves are disturbing and the hairdo is also very ‘blah’. Not a recommended red capert look for sure.

Dia Mirza: 7.5/10
Dia walked the red carpet in a typical traditional saree with an elegant blouse. From the rustic kundan jewellery to her hairdo, she kept the look simple yet appealing. It was good to see Dia in this traditional avtar.

Priyanka Chopra: 9/10
Priyanka Chopra made alot of heads turn in her blue Ferragamo gown. The hair perfectly complemented the fluidity of the dress.Although we would prefer a silver clutch on this ‘oh so perfect’ look.

Deepika Padukone: 8.5/10
Deepika looked absolutely gorgeous in her peach sari with a short sleeve silver tissue blouse.Deepika accessorized with dazzling Amrapali jewels – sparkling earrings and multiple bracelets in her right arm.She bunned the hair neatly giving the perfect touch to the overall look. [v] like!

So, the reigning divas did enchant us with their absolutely glamourous avtars while walking the red carpet. Let us know which one is your favourite!
