Many say ‘Navratri is like the Suburn for Gujaratis’. But really…who cares? The nine night’s fiesta is more than just playing dandiya. It’s about meeting new people, learning new dance steps, mouth watering food and of course, looking your best. Now, [v] are gonna give you some tips about how you should dress to kill, this Navratri.
Comfort is ‘in’
Whether you like to go all-out traditional or just a lil bit, you need to carry off whatever you are wearing with oomph and confidence .But most importantly, you got to be comfortable in your outfit!
Color your outfits
Whatever you choose to wear, a traditional outfit or an elegant indo western one, wear subtle yet vibrant colors. Avoid dark colors as it might get hotter by every hour. You can mix and match and play around with textures, designs and shades!
Traditional yet ‘cool’
For the ones who prefer to go traditional, you can show off bandhinis, embroidery, beads, stones…So many options! Guys can go ahead and wear pagdis; they are traditional, elegant and yet so cool. For girls who prefer short cholis with low waist ghagras, make sure your body is toned enough to carry it off.
Wanna keep it simple?
If you always like to keep it simple, then girls, one elegant neckpiece with a simple outfit can make the difference. For the guys, a simple kurta with a colorful bhandni dupatta can do it all.
Mind your feet!
For footwear, mojdis, flats, kolhapuris work best for both guys and girls (Warning for girls: Do not wear heels).Avoid carrying a bag and if you have to, make it a sling so that you can dance freely!
